12 million light years separate these two pictures.
On the right is a picture of Orphan stars that don't belong to any galaxy, discovered by the Hubble telescope in 2008. On the left is one of our latest picture of a new population of neurons that don't belong to any textbook. After 5 years of work we finally have rock solid evidence that these new neurons exist in mice, rats and even human. The most unexplored territories are within ourselves.
